Derek Rodenbeck on How to Get Back Into Making Art
These days, Derek Rodenbeck is one busy creative dude.聽But the work didn’t always come in聽so easily –聽in fact, Derek says it’s been four years since he last worked full-time as a comic book artist.
So how do you get back into art? And what can you do if your skills aren’t as sharp as they once were?
Derek says: “How did I get the ball rolling initially? It was hard, man – in fact, I almost walked away from this project three times!
“So you have to be patient and not expect perfection every time. The hardest thing, though, was the mental barrier we set for ourselves. You have to go back to the actual love of making art, because that’s when you’ll start excelling at it.”
